Would You Ever Guess Wednesday October 31, 2012 HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween!

Today is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday with...
My Cricut Craft Room

For our project today we were to make something with the theme of Halloween using only the Tag or Shadow feature on a Cartridge.

For my project I made a Halloween Tree.

The Cricut Cartridge that I used for this project was...A Child's Year, and I used the Tag feature.

The first pumpkin that I cut out for the top I cut in a lighter, shiny orange card stock with a bright yellow card stock to apply to the back to give the look of it glowing. I also took a darker orange ink pad and inked the edges of the pumpkin.  For this pumpkin I used both the Tag and the Shadow features.  This pumpkin is my Halloween Tree Topper since it shines.

Then I cut out several smaller pumpkins to use as ornaments for my Halloween Tree.  For all of these pumpkins I just used the Tag feature.

I tied a piece of string to each pumpkin that had a mixture of orange and reds colors through it.

I hope that you have enjoyed your visit today as well as my Halloween Tree filled with pumpkins as much as I have enjoyed sharing with you.

Halloween Card

Tomorrow is Halloween and I hope that everyone is ready for a little Trick or Treating.

Today I would like to share a Halloween Card with you that that I made.

I made a gate card added some black card stock that I ran through the embossing machine to add the little dots.  I then added some Halloween scrap paper on top of the black card stock. The paper was from the Paper Studio product line from Hobby Lobby craft store.

I stamped some little Trick or Treaters on to some white card stock and inked the edges of the card stock.

I also stamped the word "Boo" onto a white card stock circle and inked the edges of the circle as well.  I attached the circle with a foam tab to raise it up a bit, plus it gives me room to tuck the little trick or treaters corner behind the circle to help hold the card closed.

The stamps that I used came from Michael's craft store.

Then on the inside I added a square piece of white card stock where I rounded the edges as well as inked the edges of the square.  I stamped on a Halloween saying in the center of the square which is from a stamp set from Close to My Heart. Then last but not least I then took my iRock and added three silver gems above and below the stamp to give it a little bling.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting today.  I hope that you have enjoyed your visit today as well as my Halloween Card.

Until Next Time...Happy Crafting,

Robin Lane

Disney Blog Hop for Rett Syndrome Awareness

Welcome to the First Annual Blog Hop for...

Rett Syndrome Awareness

Welcome to your first stop, with Me, Robin Lane from...

October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, so I wanted to help out and what better way to do that than with a blog hop.  What is Rett Syndrome?   Rett Syndrome is a devastating neurologic developmental disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls.  It is usually caused by a mutation of the MECP2  gene on the X chromosome.  Rett Syndrome is found in all racial and ethnic groups throughout the world, and in every socioeconomic class.  Rett  Syndrome affects
in 15,000 female births.
Early developmental milestones appear normal in the beginning for the most part, but between 6-18 months of age, there is a delay or regression in development, particularly affecting speech, hand skills and coordination.  A hallmark of Rett Syndrome is the repetitive hand movements that may become almost constant while awake.  Other features may include seizures, irregular breathing, swallowing difficulties, and curvature of the spine.
Many individuals with Rett Syndrome live well into adulthood, although there are some that do not get the chance to live a long life such as our Daughter.  Our little Angel, lost her battle at the age of Nine.

There is currently no cure, but hopefully one day there will be a cure and no other family will have to loose their Angel as we did.

Hiding In My Craft Room - Challenge #69 - Thankful / Thanksgiving

Happy Saturday!!

hidinginmycraftroom.com

This week with Hiding In My Craft Room is for Challenge #69 to make something Thankful or for Thanksgiving.

Some of us used a digi image from one of our own team members, Naomi Edwards.  The name of this image is called..."Giving Thanks, Praying Girl".

A lucky winner this week will be receiving this digi image from Naomi Edwards. Good Luck!

For my project I made a gate card and took some Thanksgiving themed paper that I had in my scrap box to cover the card.

I colored the digi image with Copic Markers and attached it to the center of the gate card.

In the lower corner I attached a scalloped circle where the corner of the digi image could slide behind  to hold the card shut.  I then added a circle on top of the scallop circle that I inked the edge and stamped "Give Thanks" along with some fall leaves.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me and Hiding In My Craft Room today.  I hope that you have enjoyed your visit as well as my project as much as I have enjoyed sharing with you.

Theme Day – Christmas Gifts or Spiritual Cards

Today is Theme Day Thursday with My Cricut Craft Room and the theme of today is...Christmas Gifts or Spiritual Cards.

For my project I have some Christmas Ornaments to give to each of the members in our family, so that they will have an ornament with each persons name of their family on their Christmas tree.

I took craft ornaments that I got from one of the craft stores, poured a little Pledge floor cleaner inside the ornament and swish it around then poured out the extra cleaner.  After that I poured glitter inside each ornament and doing the same steps as I did with the floor cleaner.  In some cases if I knew what colors a family had on their Christmas tree I would use those colors of glitter, but if I did not know the colors they use I used the old stand by Christmas colors of red and green glitter.

I cut out each persons name on the Cricut using the cartridge, Art Philosophy.  Once I have the names cut out I then would take a strip of Transfer Tape to apply the names to ornaments.

Then last but not least I added a piece of pretty white ribbon to the top of the ornament for easy hanging.

Keep a look out for more Christmas Ornaments that I will be postings, I have several ideas for ornaments that I am working on and will be posting soon, so stay tuned.

I hope that you have enjoyed your visit today as well as my Christmas Ornaments as much as I have enjoyed sharing with you.

Hiding In My Craft Room Challenge #68 - Die Cuts

Happy Saturday!

hidinginmycraftroom.com

This week with Hiding In My Craft Room is for Challenge #68 to make something with Die Cuts.

So, with Thanksgiving coming up soon I decided to make a place card for the Table.

I used Cricut Cartridges...

Art Philosophy for the little Flag
and
Autumn Celebrations to cut out the card itself then with the same cartridge I used one of the Cricut Gel Pens and let my Cricut draw out the front design.

I placed a Thanksgiving themed printed paper in the background of the front of the card.

I took a Rich Cocoa Ink Pad and inked the edges of the flag, Stamped a name on the front crumbled it up a bit to give attached it to the corner of the card and added an orange gem.

Now I just need to make several more for everyone that will be at Thanksgiving Dinner.

I will also have everyone at Thanksgiving Dinner to write inside their place card what they are Thankful for.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me and Hiding In My Craft Room today.  I hope that you have enjoyed your visit as well as my project as much as I have enjoyed sharing with you.

Today is my first time Hopping with the Scraps to Treasure Team.
This is a wonderful group of ladies where we have a challenge each month to make whatever the theme may be for that month all out of our scraps bin, we can then decorate our project by using inks, stamps, paint, scraps, etc.

For this month we were challenged to make Christmas gift tags.

I took some of my printed Christmas paper as well as a solid colored paper that would match the printed paper and covered the front of the card.

With my IRock  I attached Silver Gems around the hole of the tag to give it a little bling.

I used my Rich Cocoa ink pad to intense the edges of the tag as well as using it to stamp my "To and From" on to the tag.

And last but not least...I used the following Cricut Cartridges...

Four Legged Friends to make my little Scarlett or as I like to call her "Baby".

And

Disney - Pooh and Friends for the little pink Santa Hat on Scarlett's head.

I also added a little Liquid Applique on the Santa Hat to give it that fur look effect.
